WHO WE ARE
Chief Scientific Advisor
Dokhi Nargessi, Ph.D.
Dokhi has over 30 years of broad scientific and management experience in academia and the biotech industry. Her focus has been on product research, development and commercialization in the areas of molecular diagnostics, immunoassays, cancer diagnostics and infectious diseases. As Vice President of R&D/QA at Cortex Biochem, Inc., she pioneered the development of a new line of innovative and proprietary research tools for molecular diagnostics applications. Dokhi has also held various scientific and executive management positions at ADMEcell, Promega Corporation, Chiron Diagnostics, Ciba Corning Diagnostics, Triton Diagnostics, Triton Biosciences and International Diagnostics. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Pathology from the University of London, and has a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Tehran. She has published extensively and is the inventor and/or co-inventor of a number of patents.
Chief Business Advisor
Matt Pourfarzaneh, Ph.D.
Matt has over 30 years of management and scientific experience in both industrial and academic settings. He has been the co-founder of Cortex Biochem, Inc. and ADMEcell, two successful biotech startups. As CEO of Cortex Biochem, a life science company that produced proprietary technologies based on magnetic particles and reagents for the biotechnology and diagnostic industries, he developed and oversaw implementation of the overall strategy for the company. In addition, he directed the day-to-day business operations of the company and remained closely involved with all stages of product research, development, and commercialization. Matt has also held executive positions at ADMEcell, Boehringer Mannheim, Microgenics, Triton Biosciences, and International Diagnostics, managing product research, development, and commercialization. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Pathology from the University of London, has published extensively, and is the inventor and/or co-inventor of several patents.
Chief Marketing & Communications Advisor
M. S. Farzan has written and worked for high-profile video game companies and editorial websites such as Electronic Arts, Perfect World Entertainment, Modus Games, and MMORPG.com, and has served as the Community Manager for games like Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter and Mass Effect: Andromeda. He is the Creative Director and Lead Game Designer at Nightpath Publishing and author of The Nightpath Trilogy. He holds a B.A in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Theology from the Graduate Theological Union.
